Aidan cried

today when he asked about his birthday party. We had all decided that he would not have a party this year, but for some reason he thought that he could as a fall-back? There were some special UBFunkeys he wanted but they are not out yet. He will get cable but not this month. Anyway, I guess he started telling his friends that his birthday is this Friday and when he asked what day is his party he got real sad. I told him it was ok to cry and he did and so did both his brothers. What fun that was in the car coming home. I told dh to stop at HEB so we can order a birthday cake -- he picked a SpongeBob cake. Now somehow one of us needs to get to store this week and buy the Batman game. That should make him alittle happy. I also promised that we will all go to Funtrackers this weekend to celebrate his birthday. I think I will be making many more promises in the next few weeks.

Aidan Birthday plan?

Well, things happen and things always change around here but the plan is for Aidan to get cable for his birthday. He has recently been talking about saving for a computer and we told him when the time is right we would buy that for the boys. Last year he had talked about having cable in their bedroom would make his life perfect. Well I think we can sorta make that happen only not in their bedroom but in the boys playroom. My thinking is that the playroom is for everyone and someday he can have friends over and that's where they will hang out. Since I told him that he will not have a birthday party but cable instead, he has been alittle excited but disappointed because he really wants to stay in bed and watch his shows. Dh likes the idea because I suggested moving our TV to the playroom and us getting a newer nicer one for our bedroom. I'm hoping with the playroom fixed up with a bigger TV and cable, Aidan will try harder to keep it clean so that friends can come over. And I'm secretly hoping with 3 TVs with cable I will get to watch my shows this year.

Now here's the problem, every year for Aidan's birthday I have been able to surprize him. A room full of balloons, a special cake, a trip to see Thomas, his very own GameBoy! I've always managed to get him things I know he will love without him asking. This year is telling me what he wants with Grandmas' birthday money. I want to surprize him. I told him I was going to spend their money on a dresser for their bedroom and the look on his face was not happy. He said he already had a dresser. I told him it would be nice to have a better one for a bigger TV. I don't know why I told him that we aren't planning to change the one in the bedroom.

Anyway, we have just 2 weeks to get him all his birthday wishes.
